  • A ladder inspection will use both physical and visual checks
  • Check stiles, the ladder uprights at the head and foot. Look for damage or excessive wear
  • Inspect each rung for damage
  • Inspect each ladder fitting e.g. hinges to see if they are missing or worn
  • Inspect the tie rods for faults or missing assets
  • Inspect guard and hand rails. Look for damaged, loose or worn elements
